Successful separation of twins in the south-west China
The twins were separated successfully on Saturday in Luzhou City in Sichuan Province (China, south-west) after an intensive operation of six hours.
These Siamese twins born last October 8 are in stable condition, said a source at the hospital attached to the Luzhou Medical University.
The two sisters were connected to each other in the chest and abdomen. They had shared no other body except the superposition of a portion of their livers.
The two babies now weigh 12.1 kilograms and measures 64 cm, according to hospital sources.
