Opening in Beijing an international conference on teaching English in China
The 4th International Conference on the Teaching of English opened Saturday in Beijing, attended by 1 500 experts and scholars in the field from 23 countries.
The conference is entitled “New directions for teaching English in China.”
Twenty group meetings about teaching English in East Asia, online education, education reserved for doctoral candidates as well as education in this field in Singapore will be organized during the conference plenary.
The Ministry of Education of China has attached importance to the teaching of English, said Vice-Minister Zhao Qinping, who hoped that teaching in this direction in China would reach a new level with efforts of government and teachers of English.
The conference is organized under the auspices of the China Association for the Teaching of English and the University of Foreign Studies in Beijing.

会议的标题是“中国英语教学的新方向。”
