Anti-war demonstration in London
Several thousand people demonstrated Saturday in London to mark the first anniversary of the outbreak of war in Iraq.
Two anti-war Greenpeace climbed Saturday morning Big Ben, the famous clock in London, before the event, intending to stay the day. They unfurled a banner reading “Tim for the truth” (the moment of truth).
Around 1200 GMT, several thousand people went to Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square in central London to attend an anti-war rally organized by the Stop The War Coalition, Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB).
According to the British press, many people from different parts of the country should go to London to attend this event.
Mayor of London Ken Livingstone and many pacifists would speak at the rally.
