A Chinese pianist named Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF
Chinese pianist Lang Lang was Thursday appointed UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador UN Children’s Fund (Unicef).
“We are very pleased that Lang Lang spends his time and talents to improving the lives of children who live far from the concert halls of the capitals of the world,” said the executive director of Unicef, Carol Bellamy .
“Lang Lang is a great ambassador for classical music and I have no doubt he will be an extraordinary ambassador for children,” Bellamy added.
Lang Lang joins great walking Ambassadors of Good Will, traveling the world for many children, including actor Harry Belafonte and Hong Kong stars Jackie Chan and Leon Lai.
