China and the European Union (EU) attach importance to the upcoming China visit of Javier Solana, High Representative for EU foreign policy, said Thursday in Beijing Liu Jianchao, spokesman of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a news briefing.

Liu said, is the first official visit to China by Solana since he took over as Secretary General of EU Council and High Representative for EU foreign policy and security.

In response to a question on the agenda of Solana’s visit, Liu said Premier Wen Jiabao will meet and Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing would meet with him.

Solana will also visit the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation and deliver a speech at Qinghua University, one of the prestigious universities in China.
Solana will pay the visit at the invitation of Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing Chinese.

中国和欧洲联盟（欧盟）高度重视即将举行的中国的高级代表哈维尔索拉纳代表欧盟访问的外交政策，周四在北京刘建超中国外交部发言人的外交部举行的新闻发布会。
